Our National Safe Boating Council’s (NSBC) On-Water Training courses offer a fun, easy, and affordable way to develop and improve your boating skills. The courses below are the NSBC modular boat control curriculum.
Private Training - Up to 2 People (12+)
Great for Adults and Youth new to boating or moving up in class to a larger boat. Parents can get peace of mind knowing they and their kids are learning lifelong boat operation and safety training that will serve them on the water.
You can book each module individually, (about 1.5 to 2 hours on the water), book the combined module 1 & 2 training (about 3 hours on the water) or book the full 4 module curriculum training with the goal of earning your NSBC certification in one day (about 6 hours on the water). For these training courses, Capt. Matt provides two options: training on the Customers boat or training on Our boat.

Boating Fundamentals
You will master basic handling requirements for everyday common situations on the water, starting with dock departure, turning the boat around 180 degrees and docking approaches.
Precision Docking & Boat Handling
You will master basic handling requirements for everyday common situations on the water, starting with dock departure, turning the boat around 180 degrees and docking approaches.
Open Water Boat Handling
Focus will be on real-world boat handling situations on the open water, learning to read navigational signals, and learn how to avoid over-steering and course correction issues when traveling a long distance.
Open Water Advanced Maneuvering
You will learn how to reach planing speed, handle wakes, sharp maneuvers and man-overboard tactics.
