Captain Profile

Captain Matt Derrenbacher holds a 100 Ton Near Coastal Captain's License for Self Propelled Vessels. Originally born in North Carolina, Captain Matt now resides in Fairhope, AL after a 20 year career of service in the US Coast Guard. He is a Cruising PowerBoat Instructor certified through US PowerBoating for Yachts and a Boat Control On Water Instructor certified through the National Safe Boating Council for 18-26 foot boats. With these instructor certifications Captain Matt can teach students a wide variety of on water boating skills including earning the highly regarded International Proficiency Certificate (IPC).

Captain Matt is not only an experienced boating instructor, he continues to serve his community coaching youth sports and serving as an Adult Leader in the Boy Scouts of America, and his free time is spent with his family on the water.
